PAPER PLANES (DFA REMIX)

Long Live McQueen

To a Legend, A Definite Artist.

When the Spring 2011 collection was coming around, the world waited with bated breath to see if Sara Burton was able to fill the very shoes that McQueen had walked in throughout the years.
As the first model took to the runway, it was understood that we were all in the midst of a true artist. Absolutely beautiful cocktail dresses with exquisite prints and textures that were reminiscent of the previous centuries. Lace and gold embroidery took over the runway as the models walked to the tribute of McQueen.
While the dresses became more intense as the show went on, one with the illusion of flowers just falling off of the body, another with fabric like tentacles flowing off the dress, it was as if Alexander has been there the entire time making sure every detail was just right.
Sarah Burton’s career has had many ups and downs this year, but one thing is for sure, her success in the fashion industry is only just beginning.
